You did it!

We launched our defibrillator fundraising campaign with our friends at C-Bay in March, and we were blown away with the quick and generous response from our customers, community and supporters.

We raised our target of £3000 in just one month – and we’re delighted to say that the defibrillator has now been installed in the West Pentire car park, with the team from Duchy Defibrillators visiting on Thursday the 15th of June to set it all up! Along with the lovely team at C-bay, we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated what they could and helped us to raise awareness – it really is life-saving stuff and it will make such a difference to our community.

We love being where we are, on top of the cliffs and surrounded by nature, but the remote location can be a disadvantage – and in a cardiac emergency, every second is vital. Prompt CPR and defibrillation can more than double someone’s chances of survival and until now, the closest defibrillator was on Crantock beach, over a mile away. Teaming up with the local businesses and starting this fundraiser was the way forward to making sure that this much needed piece of life saving equipment would be available in an emergency.

And – we couldn’t have done it without our fantastic community of Bowgie friends. Thanks to your support, we now have a defibrillator located close by that will be there for anyone who needs it.

Now that’s what we call community spirit! When people get together to take action and make changes, it’s amazing to see and we love it.
