August at The Bowgie

If July was all about welcoming summer, August is when we really settle into it.

The sunshine has certainly been treating us well recently, and there’s no better place to make the most of it than from the terrace at The Bowgie, overlooking Crantock Beach.

Whether you’re stopping by after a morning swim, meeting friends for lunch, enjoying an evening meal after a day of Cornish sightseeing, or ending the day with a cold drink as the sun begins to set, August is all about slowing down and making the most of everything the North Cornwall coast has to offer.

Summer Days, Your Way

Some people start the day with a coffee and a homemade slice of cake before heading down to the beach for a dip.

Others settle in for a leisurely lunch after exploring the South West Coast Path. And for many, nothing beats finding a spot on the terrace with an ice-cold drink, watching the world go by and soaking up the spectacular views.

Of course, we all know the Cornish weather likes to keep us on our toes! If the sunshine disappears for a while, we’ve got plenty of indoor seating where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch, a coffee and cake, or challenge friends and family to a game of pool while you wait for the skies to brighten again.

However you like to spend a summer’s day, there’s always a reason to stop by.

A Summer Full of Sport

Last month was a brilliant one for sport at The Bowgie. From cheering on England together during the World Cup to watching Wimbledon unfold on the big screens, it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces enjoying the atmosphere with us.

We were also delighted to support the local running community for the Purple Gecko Sunset Summer Half Marathon and Long 10K. It was wonderful to see so many runners, supporters and volunteers making the most of another fantastic community event.

Sunday Roasts Are Here to Stay

Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean the Sunday Roast has to wait until winter!

Our famous Sunday Roasts continue every Sunday throughout August, proving that crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy taste just as good on a sunny beach day as they do on a chilly winter afternoon.

As always, they’re incredibly popular, so we’d recommend booking ahead to avoid missing out.

Make the Most of Summer

With the school holidays in full swing and hopefully plenty more sunshine to come, there’s no better time to enjoy everything August has to offer.

Whether you’re joining us for coffee and cake, lunch with friends, an evening meal after a day exploring Cornwall, a refreshing drink on the terrace or a Sunday Roast with the family, we’d love to welcome you to The Bowgie.

Here’s to making the most of the last full month of summer on the Cornish coast!
