04 Sep Ale & Cider Festival 2025: Sunshine, Music and Community
What an incredible August Bank Holiday weekend! Ale & Cider Festival 2025 at Bowgie Inn was our biggest and best yet.
Four glorious days of sunshine, live music, garden games, delicious food and tastings of craft ales, ciders and gins brought our community together for a festival full of laughter, fun and unforgettable moments.
We’re so proud to share that we raised £7,289.97 for Cornwall Hospice Care, bringing Bowgie Inn’s total raised for this incredible charity to nearly £65,000 over the years.
(All donations as well as every penny spent in the beer tent was donated directly to the charity – and all costs for the event were covered by us.)

Festival Highlights & Fun Moments
The weekend was packed with amazing moments:
- Our star barman Rhys joined the Newquay Rowing Club Singers for a few numbers, including Trelawny. They even have a shirt waiting for him if he decides to join!
- The fireworks? Absolutely The Best Ever, according to practically everyone who attended. Stunning!
- The Claze had the beer tent rocking – everyone dancing and singing along. We’d love to have them back again soon!
- The Silent Disco was a big hit with both kids and big kids!
- Rhys the Night Church Pianist was pure magic and we have lasting memories of his beautiful music.
- Acappella Sound’s stunning harmonies drifted through the beer garden creating a wonderful atmosphere.
- Lauren Bailey’s set was a total joy – what a talent!
- Avalon with DJ Robbie kept the Saturday vibe alive.
- At Sunday lunchtime, Indian Queens Band stole the show on the terrace with their brass band classics and popular tunes!
- Delicious chilli hot-dogs and Sunday Roasts helped everyone refuel between drinks.
- The JDM Car Club and Cornish motorcyclists contributed with charity ride-outs, adding to the fundraising totals.
- Lucky festival-goers who bagged a Doom Bar deck chair or bean bag definitely stayed longer to soak up the sunshine and music!
- The garden games were enjoyed by all who played – does anyone know where the Smite No 10 skittle is!?
- Our Ale Festival Quiz was another hit, with teams taking on music, movie, picture and general knowledge rounds, all topped off with a raffle. Big thanks to Claire, our Quiz Master, for keeping the fun rolling.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the helpers from Cornwall Hospice Care who were a huge support, attending throughout the weekend with family members joining in too – it gave everyone great moral support!
We couldn’t have done any of it without our fantastic breweries, including St Austell Brewery, Healey’s and Rattler, and every musician, performer, supplier, volunteer, and supporter who gave their time, energy and talent.
And of course, a huge thank you to every single person who joined us at Bowgie Inn over the August Bank Holiday Weekend – you are what makes this festival so special.
Perfect weather, amazing music, laughter and the spirit of giving – it truly was a weekend to remember.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
