Humans used to be coy about public displays of vanity. They used to sneak a peak at their reflection in shop windows or very surreptitiously reapply lipstick whilst crouched under the table using the back of a spoon as a mirror. If they had to take a photo of themselves, it would be a really speedy snap without any retakes or flamboyant posing.
The thought of someone catching them being in anyway self-absorbed used to fill humans with dread.
How things have changed. We have evolved into much more liberal creatures.
You want to take a good look at yourself in that mirror in a restaurant? Go for it!
You want to watch yourself strut down the street in the shop window? Go for it.
You want to take duck face selfie after duck face selfie? Go for it.
It’s liberating and quite frankly, we feel as though we have been missing out. All these years of being self conscious have cheated us from some pretty cool photo opportunities.
No more! Now it’s time to embrace the selfie and take it to the next level. These days, humans don’t just want selfies, they want inspiration. They want good hair, good make up, great outfits and most importantly, fabulous backdrops.
Luckily we’re here to help with our suggestions of selfie-worthy locations in Cornwall!
4. St Michael’s Mount
The beautiful beach and dramatic bay of Crantock makes the perfect background for a selfie…. and if you happen to get a pink pub in shot as well…. bonus!!! A selfie like that is most definitely screen saver material and would get plenty of shares, retweets, double taps and likes we’re sure of it.
Don’t forget ot share your snaps for our Wall of Fame!
