Watching the news, the world can sometimes look like a scary place. However there is something wonderful about humans wherever they live on this beautiful planet of ours; humans connect with each other without words using the most simple of communicative gestures; a smile.
A smile can break boundaries. A smile can change the outcome of a situation. A smile can make everything ok. A smile can lift your mood, it can make a friend and it is possibly the best invention ever.
It is estimated that adults smile only 20 times a day. Children smile around 400 times. As children have way more fun than grownups, we have decided there must be a direct link between having fun and wearing a smile. So today we plan to smile so much we will be going to bed tonight with aching cheeks after the most fun day we’ve ever had. We bet we’ll be able to make you smile too with our 72 inch screens, our giant jenga, our delicious menu, well stocked bar and friendly staff.
But we realise some smiles might be more difficult to raise which is why we’ve been practising some brilliant jokes to make even the most grumpy person chuckle… such as:
Two birds were sat on a perch. One said to the other ‘can you smell fish?’
So celebrate World Smile Day at The Bowgie – we have our joke book at the ready.
Hooray for aching cheeks, big laughs and toothy grins!
