1. Our world class beer garden and its breathtaking views
Is there anything better than sipping a cold one overlooking the sparkling Atlantic Ocean? We don’t think so! Our incredible beer garden is The Bowgie’s crowning glory, so sit back and enjoy a pint of local ale or bottle of wine in the giant deckchair, or at one of the many tables that sprawl out across the grass. Rain or shine, the view from our pub is completely unrivalled. We believe watching the sun sink below the horizon with your friends and family, whether your lounging in the beer garden or cosied up inside, is what life is all about!
2. Possibly the best stocked bar in the South West?!
Not to brag, but we boast an unbelievable selection of local and international gins, wines, beers, ciders, soft drinks and spirits and are constantly looking to expand the collection; as if 25 different varieties of Gin wasn’t enough! We are proud to be affiliated with local breweries such as family-run Skinners, Cornwall-based Tarquins and local cider farm; Healey’s. With so many ales, ciders, lagers, craft beers, wines, gins, whiskeys and rums from within the Duchy, there’s enough choice to last you all year round! And then some…
3. Hearty, wholesome Pub Food
As a ‘Taste of the West’ Silver Award winner, our traditional menu is brimming with mouth-watering variety. The monumental Bowgie Brunch is the perfect pre-surf fuel, hangover cure or post-hike treat after a cliff-top stomp and our famous Roast Dinner is served all day on Sundays (bring your appetite, the portions are BIG!) We also offer non-stop food service on weekends and in the holidays, so you can satisfy hungry tums all day long! Whether it’s salads in the sunshine or cheesy chips by the roaring fire, make yourself comfy and enjoy the tasty treats on offer at The Bowgie. Don’t forget our famous treacle tart which has people returning again and again!
4. We like to make a difference
Here at The Bowgie, we are a pub that cares. We joined The Final Straw Cornwall, a campaign to rid the county of single use plastic straws and raise awareness of the damage single use plastics are causing to our environment. since the campaign began! Not only are we environmentally friendly, we are also longstanding supporters of Cornwall Hospice Care, Cornwall Air Ambulance and K9 Crusaders. We have also supported brand-new signage in the car park, in collaboration with the RNLI, informing people on how to stay safe at the beach and in the sea.
5. Location, location, location…
Follow Cornish lanes as they meander through the countryside to the incredible West Pentire, where you’ll find us perched on the headland overlooking the expanse of golden sands stretching down to crystal sea. Crantock beach is vast, dog-friendly and lifeguarded between July and September, and accommodates for all with a large car park which allows easy access. You can wander the gorgeous South West coast path to secluded Polly Joke, or even further to Holywell and Perranporth. In the opposite direction, you can reach Newquay town, which will seem a world away from quaint, quiet Crantock village – but you won’t want to stay away for long!
Food, booze, amazing views… we can’t wait to welcome you to The Bowgie!
