Recently we tried Saturday Stake Nights instead of Saturday Steak Nights.
It seemed ok at first. People were turning up with large pieces of pointed wood and the bar stools were used by ‘Dragon’s Den’ style investors who were offering cash to Bowgie entrepreneurs for a stake in their new business ventures… and we didn’t have any trouble with vampires.
The thing was, we were beginning to worry that it would only be a matter of time before someone dragged in a witch for burning and that’s not our bag at all. So we changed it back to Steak Night and to be honest, that’s the way we like it.
We like juicy cuts of meat and piping hot chips.
We like sauces and mushrooms and peas.
We like those criss-cross black lines on the meat and we like to wash it down with a glass of red.
We know you like that too. So next Saturday leave your fence posts at home and come and see us at The Bowgie Inn, Crantock for some sizzling offers (Vampires and witches are always welcome and we condone any aggressive usage of stakes. We condone any aggressive usage of steaks too come to think of it. We also condone neck-biting, turning people into toads and queue jumping).
