Fancy a trip to Cornwall but you’re all spent out? Never fear, the team from The Bowgie Inn, Crantock, are here to provide a list of super cheap places to stay… especially if you have a camper van!
At The North Inn, Pendeen there is a small, simple campsite for tents and small touring vans which cost £5 per person per night. There are showers and toilets and obviously the pub! Simple, cheap and all the basics you could ever need.
The Carpark at Praa Sands allows you pay for overnight parking and that means you can have a perfect spot right on the beach within walking distance of the bar, restaurant and chipshop all for just £5…. although on some websites the price was listed as £8… but still a bargain for an overnight stay.
Our most expensive, but most comfortable option is a youth hostel. This one in Tintagel offers stunning views of the north coast and is perfect for families. It’s £18 mid week off season and prices go up to £24 at peak time weekends during school holidays. So although it’s the most pricey option, it’s still great value!
There is space for five motorhomes at The Halfway House Inn in Wadebridge. It’s £10 per night (less off-season) and that is refunded if you spend a certain amount in the restaurant. It’s worth giving them a call to check as details seem to change often in the world of cheap overnight spots for camper vans!
The Willow Park Car Park allows overnight parking for camper vans for £7.50. It’s a short walk to the harbour and there is a water tap available. It is a busy carpark though so you may have to wait until late evening for a space to become available.
We would continue but we bet that having read this far, you are too excited to read anymore and are already packing your bag for a trip to Cornwall on a shoestring. Well enjoy yourself, and make sure you stop by The Bowgie Inn and say hi!
