We are hosting a unique event on behalf of Cornwall Hospice Care on 10th December, inviting people to remember those who are no longer with us, with a celebration service called Light up a Life.
As part of our ongoing support for Cornwall Hospice Care, we feel very proud to be holding an evening of remembrance. This time of year, we all look forward to Christmas but it can also be a sad time when we miss our loved ones. This is why the Light up a Life events are so poignant – they will be bringing us all together to celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us.
The service at The Bowgie will be non-religious but the charity is holding several religious services across Cornwall throughout December.
We will have gentle live music, readings and festive refreshments. There will also be a chance to view the Newquay book of remembrance and to write a personal message on a card star to hang on a tree. You don’t have to have a connection with the hospices to take part, the events are open to everyone!
At every Light up a Life service, there will be a book of remembrance where families can have a page, displaying a loved ones name. These need to be ordered before the event to see the completed page on the day. Each page can acknowledge four people and will appear in your chosen book location.
We have had another amazing year raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care and this event will be a very memorable way to end our fundraising in 2017. To date, we have raised over £40,000 for this incredible charity – with minimal NHS funding, they need to raise around £5 million every year to provide the specialist, free care they offer.
Light up a Life Newquay will take place at The Bowgie on 10th December, 7-9pm.
