Here at The Bowgie Inn, Crantock, we began to ponder a very important question: ‘How wine obsessed are we?’ We like wine. We think about it a LOT and sometimes we even dream about it. In an effort to find an answer to our question, we designed this quiz to find out how obsessed with wine we are. To find out the level of your wine obsession, answer the quiz below!

1.  How do you feel about wine-drinking on long journeys by plane, train or automobile?
a) I disagree with it. You need to keep your wits about you at all times. What if there was an emergency situation?
b) Yeah I’m rather partial to the odd foil-sealed glass of train wine after a long day.
c) It’s one of the only reasons I book long haul flights. As soon as that seat belt sign goes off you’ll hear me shouting ‘Bring me the all inclusive wine stewardess and make it snappy!’

2. Which statement rings most true with you:

a) I like to wait until I get here I’m going before I have a drink.
b) I like nothing more than to take a hot bath with a glass of wine. Sets me up perfectly for the evening out.
c) I’ll have a glass of wine when I’m getting ready to go out. I’ll have one in the shower, in the bath in the taxi – pretty much all the pre outing locations are wine drinking venues for me.

3. The cork screw is broken. Do you:

a) Leave the bottle and wait until your next trip to the shop to pick one up.
b) Rummage through your collection of wine as you’re sure there’s a screw top in there somewhere.
c) FIND A WAY by gouging, poking and wiggling until you are successful and if that means bits of cork floating in your drink so be it.

4. When is the perfect time of day to have a glass of wine?

a) There isn’t a right time.
b) I count down to six o’clock aka wine o’clock like my life depends on it.
c) Any time. I like a glass in the evening or a glass with lunch. Plus any opportunity to have ‘procecco for brecco’ and i’m all over it. Birthday, anniversaries, weddings, you name it.

5.  Are you:

a) a white wine drinker
b) a red wine drinker
c) a whatever wine drinker

6. Boxed wine:

a) Never. Wine in a box is so uncouth.
b) In some situations it could be an option.
c) Box, bottle, bag… you don’t discriminate.

7.  Do you have any spare corks lying around?
a) No.
b) A Few.
c)I have enough to make one of these bad boys:

 

8.  How do you carry your recycling box?
a) Any way I like. I have nothing to hide.
b) I carry it with caution – too many bottle clinks and my neighbours might judge me.
c) I can’t lift it….bottles are surprisingly heavy.

9.  Do you wear lipstick?
a) Yes – I like a little something to brighten and accentuate.
b) There’s no point – It will just rub off on the glass.
c) No I just drink enough wine until I stain my lips red.

10.  What do you do with left over wine?

a) Pop it in the fridge for tomorrow.
b) If there’s a drop left I might use it to cook with.
c) What is left over wine????

Mostly a’s

You need to open your heart a little more and let the love for wine flow. You are still in denial but given time, we believe your obsession for wine will blossom. You must want it to happen… you took time to do this quiz after all!

Mostly b’s

You love wine, that is true. You look forward to the taste and you probably know a good vintage when you see one. To move to full obsession though we feel you need to put a bit more effort in.

Mostly c’s

Congratulations! You are totally obsessed with wine. In fact, we bet you’re holding a glass right now aren’t you??
