Those of you that follow us on social media will know that we LOVE our gin here at the Bowgie. We’ve had gin-cidents, gin pancake, Clotted Cream Gin… in fact, we think you’ll agree that there aren’t many things can’t be improved by a delicious gin!
That’s why we are SO delighted to be stocking Healey’s most recent addition to their spirits range!! From the legends that brought you Rattler Cyder, prepare to be blown away by their spectacular dry and pink gin flavours.

Rattler Gin
Locally distilled just down the road at Healey’s Cyder Farm, commercial director Joe Healey says “It’s gin but not as you know it.”
Both gins are made using the same apples that used to make Healey’s signature cyder, which really sets this gin apart. The apples are pressed, fermented and double-distilled onsite to create a spirit – which is then combined with spring water from Healey’s site.
For the classic dry gin, the apple spirit is combined with botanicals juniper, coriander, lemon, orange, iris, angelica and mace, to create a refreshing, elegant drink. The slightly sweeter pink gin gets its gorgeous flavour and beautiful colour from mouthwatering raspberries, which are steeped in the apple spirit. We love to combine ours with Cornish tonics like Sea Buck and Navas – which are your favourites?
While Rattler Cyder might be what you know Healey’s best for, they’ve actually been distilling flavoursome spirits for 20 years – their first brandy was released in 2000. Established in 1980, family owned and Cornish born and bred, they’ve been doing things differently – and winning awards for it since 1980.
“True to our roots, this isn’t just another gin. We have Cornwall’s oldest distillery onsite and have won multiple awards for our brandy and whiskies, so we were confident we could create something special.
“We saw an opportunity to inject some fun into the gin market and Rattler is the brand to do this, while ensuring the exceptional quality and craftmanship for which we are renowned.”
We’re gin-toxicated with this new addition to our Cornish gin collection – especially with the beautiful new glasses that go with it and the sleek updated snake branding.
It’s been a perfect accompaniment to watch the spectacular sunsets in the beer garden. There’s definitely something special about this Cornish spirit and we look forward to sharing it with you!
