So your friends have suggested you all go out for a few drinks and you are to meet at 7pm.
Your first thought is not ‘What should I wear?’
It’s certainly not ‘I hope no one has invited Brian’
Yes, these thoughts do cross your mind, but the first thought is…
‘What about food?’ 7pm is dinner time.
Should you eat first? Will people want to get food when they are out? Does where you’re going even serve food? We all remember what happened last time with the 4 bags of pork scratchings and maraschino cherries…urgh.
This food anxiety is heightened even more so when the proposed ‘drinks’ is on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm. It’s not a lunch meet up as it’s well after midday but it’s not dinner…however the outing will probably extend well past 6pm so at some point food will need to be consumed. Should you mention food? Should you eat first? Should you eat as soon as you get there or will some people prefer to eat later? Should you wait until you get home to eat? Should you take a packed lunch….WHAT SHOULD YOU DO??
Our suggestion is to first take a deep inhalation and exhale slowly – do this a few times if necessary and just allow yourself to CALM DOWN.
All these food related questions whizzing through that head of yours is enough to make anyone feel nauseous. We know you can’t ignore that tummy rumble and yes, we understand that food is important; it’s vital.
But we also understand that you won’t just eat anything. You want hearty home cooking. You want to fill your boots with something thats both delicious and nutritious. You want options that make your mouth water and you want to enjoy it all with a pint in your hand.
There is a way to avoid this food-related anxiety by coming to The Bowgie Inn, Crantock. Our lip-smackingly good menu never fails to disappoint…neither does our well stocked bar. That means you can enjoy a drink safe in the knowledge that if hunger strikes you can order something shamazing to eat without a worry.
So next time your friends suggest ‘drinks’ make sure it happens at The Bowgie!
