Following a government initiative, we are joining the hoards of other eateries who are removing the letter ‘C ‘from their menus in order to help create a healthier, happier UK population. We have opted for the new tax year to update our menu and as a result, you may now notice some of our dishes have been renamed to meet the new guidelines and requirements.
From now on, our chips will be referred to as ‘hips’ because let’s face it, that’s what you get if you eat too many of them. Cake has become ‘ake’ and hopefully our selection of ‘urries’ and ‘hilli on arne’ will be just as popular as their predecessors.
Not every dish has been lucky enough to merely undergo a name change… we are sad to inform you that ‘Cauliflower Cheese’ and ‘Crab Cakes with Chilli’ have had to go altogether.
Our steaks and Sunday roasts remain mostly unchanged; except of course for the addition of ‘arrots’.
Burgers are also the same as they always were as long as you don’t mind swapping ‘cheese and bacon’ for ‘heese and ba’on.’
Please bare with us as we make these changes and remember we are doing it for the benefit of the people. We know there will be Nationwide confusion during the settling in period, but we assure you that you can still enjoy a pint of ‘ider’ from the bar and Crantock will not be renamed Rantock.
