Ok so we love America, we really, really do.
We like burgers and quite enjoy a spot of Hollywood Gossip.
We also like a bargain so a couple of years ago, when we heard about this amazing thing called ‘Black Friday’, we were intrigued.
If you are living in blissful ignorance and wondering what Black Friday is, here is an explanation in a nutshell.
Black Friday is the Day after Thanksgiving (that is an American Public Holiday we are sure you know something about but if not, in a smaller nutshell, it’s about pilgrims, turkeys and being thankful). It is when most Americans started their Christmas shopping so to entice shoppers, retailers offer flash sales and discounts for one day only.
Over here, it was introduced a few years ago and has already led to the odd punch up over a discounted flatscreen TV. But don’t worry, it doesn’t need to be re-named Black-Eye Friday…if you are savvy, you can still grab a few bargains and avoid stitches.
The solution is simple. The solution is something called The Internet. It’s what you are on right now and it’s all you are going to need (along with your credit card details) to make the most of Black Friday deals!
We have noticed that online discounts seem to start a few days before Black Friday. They send you an email with those cheeky little promotional codes that take a chunk of the total you have in your shopping basket as if by magic. You don’t even need to get up off the sofa. You don’t even need to get dressed.
So our advice is this; stay away from the shops, get yourself online do a click here, a click there, type in a code here or a code there, order your Christmas presents then spend what you’ve saved on a treat for yourself such as a pint and a slap up lunch at the Bowgie Inn, Crantock. Job done.
