At The Bowgie Inn, we like April Fool’s Day…but we DO NOT like it when people ruin food. Here are some totally awful April Fool’s Day pranks of which we utterly disapprove… (don’t get any ideas)
- Krispy Kreme Broccoli Box
Everyone loves a box of Krispy Kreme Donuts. Part of that love comes from the fact we know just how naughty there are. When we open the box, we have already come to terms with the fact we are going to smash our calorie intake for the day into oblivion. We’ve accepted the naughtiness. Imagine how you would feel when you open the box; salivating at the thought of the custard filling dripping down your chin only to see a big pile of broccoli. Yes it’s healthier. But anyone opening a Krispy Kreme box does not want ‘healthy’.
This is a harsh trick. Plus, the ‘prankee’ would know that the ‘pranker’ has hidden the real donuts. So if you do give this prank a try, don’t be surprised if it turns nasty when the victim tries to find the real ones!!!
- Mustard Bunny
We all have a glut of chocolate bunnies lying around after Easter. Why anyone would want to spoil perfectly good chocolate is beyond us, maybe that’s why the person in this photo has used a small chocolate bunny…. anything more would seem a bit too harsh, even to the most extreme prankster. A filling of hotdog mustard would, to any unsuspecting consumer, look like a tasty caramel filling…imagine the rage unleashed after a bite of this monstrosity!!!
- Chocolate Onions
Chocolate covered apples remind everyone of their childhood (no one ever really had them during their childhood, it’s just that we all remember really wanting them during our childhood which must be where this memory comes from). So when we imagine eating a chocolate apple, we think of the tiny sugar sprinkles crunching in our mouths as the chocolate melts and mixes with the flavour of the sweetest, juiciest apple. So imagine just how repulsed you would be when instead of apple, you get layers of raw onion. Wet and pungent and permeating the skin in your mouth so that everything you eat for a whole week has a slight onion flavour. This must surely be an illegal?
- Soapy Bread
Crusty bread is one of life’s great joys. The flavour of the freshly baked crust, a dollop of butter and the flaky crumbs that fall as you take a bite. Imagine the cruelty of biting into a fresh chunk of bread only to discover it’s actually a microwaved bar of soap. This would be utterly evil and totally deserving of a reprisal.
- Peach Egg and Apple Chips.
This is the kind of April Fool’s Day prank that mum’s do. Join us as we shout IT’S NOT FUNNY MUM! STOP TRYING TO BE FUNNY! (Then follow us as we stomp upstairs and slam our bedroom door to wallow in the self pity inspired by our mothers serving up apples instead of chips).
The moral of the story is never mess with food and absolutely, definitely, do NOT get any ideas for April Fools Day.
We should point out here that we do like a joke… just not when it comes to food. We’re more into this kind of thing, light hearted, no one gets hurt and no one goes hungry:
Imagine all those people shouting at a door…LOL
