This is a momentous occasion.
We are rolling out the virtual red carpet and have arranged for cyber space’s finest marching band to perform.
THIS is internet history.
THIS is the first ever Guest Blog for the Bowgie Inn, Crantock.
So if you’re sitting comfortably we would like to begin…
Meet Robert Green, better known as ‘Minnow’ in these parts. He is the handsome chap on the left (the equally as handsome gentleman on the right is our very own Andy Pickles). We invited him to answer some seriously important questions for this blog because he organises the world famous Longboard Surf Competition which is due to take place right here in Crantock on the 20th and 21st of June and he is also the founder of the British Longboard Union.
Now as we said, the questions we ask are tremendously important, so we began with the most important question a man could ask another man.
“Are you Cornish?”
(We thought as much. Only a true Cornishman could be as passionate about waves and longboards)
“How often do you visit Crantock?”
6 to 10 times a year.
(As the chosen location for the Longboard Championships AND the home of The Bowgie Inn, we imagine Minnow finds it hard to stay away! )
“Drink of choice?”
“Favourite place in Cornwall?”
(Excellent choice, that’s one of our favourite spots as well)
“Favourite Beach in Cornwall?”
(Cliffs, coves, fantastic views and an abundance of wildlife; we’d have to agree that Godrevy ticks a lot of boxes.)
“What do you love about Cornwall?”
The Waves, the weather, the people.
(We couldn’t have put it better ourselves!)
Minnow is a great guy who is a pleasure to spend time with and he left us with words of wisdom of which we should all take note;
Respect the ocean. The tide waits for no man or woman.
