The Ale Fest is fast approaching and there will be nearly 60 delicious ales and ciders for you to sample. From the 26th to the 29th of August 2016, we’re planning on partying like never before with live music and pasties whilst keeping ourselves hydrated with the finest ale and cider in the world… probably.
To get you in the mood (hubba hubba) we thought we’d tell you about five of the delicious beverages that will be on offer.
1. Cornish Knocker
According to Skinner’s Brewery, this is a ground breaking golden ale that’s floral, spicy and citrusy with an alcoholic volume of 4.5%….strewth! That’s one of our strongest ones. What does it mean by ‘ground breaking’? There’s only one way to find out my friend!
2. Cornish Trawler
Skinner’s describe this one as a ‘bracing pale ale’ and say to expect something light, citrusy and hoppy….the alcohol content is 3.8% Apparently this is a favourite amongst mermaids and if it’s good enough for merfolk, it’s good enough for us!
3. Azores
The Atlantic Brewery bring this vegan offering to the table. It has a volume of 4.2% and is a Mid-Atlantic pale. We know that some of you reading this have already picked up on the word ‘vegan’. You’ve probably made a joke to yourself about their being no meat in a pint. OK smarty pants that’s true, but some distilling processes use eggs meaning some drinks aren’t suitable for vegans. But vegans can sip away on this one worry-free.
4. Pilgrim
Another delicious offering from The Atlantic Brewery. A little stronger than Azores at 4.4% it’s a ruby ale and this one is vegan too! Vegan or not, all ales go well with all our yummy steaks….just sayin’!
5. Kor’Dorgel
From The Padstow Brewing Company, Kor’ Dorgel is a fresh, hoppy pale ale with a volume of 4% and it’s one of our favourite names. We might start using it as a general expression of satisfaction.
‘Kor’Dorgel, that’s brilliant!’
So try these (and about 50 others!) at the Ale Fest here at The Bowgie Inn, Crantock, this Bank Holiday Weekend!
