Most people already know that Cornwall is where it’s at – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. That is even more true during summer months.
Don’t believe us? Well here are ten pictures that totally prove our point.
1. Crantock!
Ok we know what you’re thinking, you are thinking we’re biased. But surely once you’ve looked at this picture is really clear for all to see that Crantock is definitely where it’s at! This is our view EVERYDAY and we never tire of seeing this section of our stunning Cornish coastline.
2. Eden Sessions.
There’s more to the Eden Project than its distinctive domes. It’s also a spectacular venue for live music that attracts huge stars. This summer it’s hosting Lionel Richie, Tom Jones and PJ Harvey to name a few! If this doesn’t prove Cornwall is where it’s at, we don’t know what will.
3. Boardmaster Festival
This is festival that really does have it all; music stages, you can watch the pros surf or learn yourself, skating and BMXing, beach bar, after parties, shopping surf village…need we continue? It attracts people from all over the world to both party and compete, so they obviously think Cornwall is where it’s at. Well, they think Cornwall is where the Boardmaster Festival is at.
4. Mens Open Surfing Championships.
As part of the Boardmasters Festival, you get to see these guys and their board mastery. British pros and international competitors descend on Fistral Beach to ride the waves like only they can. Watching a pro surfer is an inspiring jaw dropping experience you will never forget. Try it and see!
5. Camping holidays with a difference.
Yes we have fields. Loads of them. We have country walks a plenty and all the other things that traditionally go hand in hand with families and camping holidays…but with our stunning sandy beaches and water sports facilities Cornwall has way more to offer than your usual camping trip!!
6. Evening walks.
After the crowds have up and left and as the sun is setting this is our most favourite time of the day. Walking along a peaceful beach is the most wonderful experience….this photo sums it up perfectly!!!
7. The Bowgie Ale and Cider Festival!
The August Bank Holiday Weekend and the Bowgie Ale and Cider Fest are now inseparable in the minds of many. For several years now, people have descended on the Bowgie Inn for a long weekend of real ale, amazing food, games, prizes, live music and good times. This photo shows that last year was good…but this year promises to be even better! All in support of Cornwall Hospice Care.
8. Surf surf and more surf!
This photo is a reminder that we have some of the country’s best beaches. We would go as far to say that we have the world’s BESTEST beaches. From novice to pro, our countless beaches provide the perfect conditions whatever your surfing ability. Plus now the Bowgie have our very own surf cam you can check out our live feed to see the conditions in Crantock before you grab your board! Don’t forget if you sign up to view our new cam, you could win a new Red Stripe Surfboard!
9. There’s always a quiet place somewhere.
Porth (Polly) Joke is just a short stroll from The Bowgie and this photo shows us that although Cornwall is popular with tourists during the summer months, there are still secret little hideaways where you can get away from it all.
10. Dining in the Open Air.
There’s something special about dining outside. Cornwall provides countless opportunities to dine al fresco, and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, at The Bowgie you get a stunning view to boot!
